It has come to newspapers worldwide, that the Sony Ericsson Satio is the phone with the highest level of radiation emissions in the United Kingdom. The level they say the phone has is 1.5 and all the other smartphones are below 1.5.

This work was made by scientists and they are aware of notions it can cause, but they are not certain. The problem comes when they think on the people who used to walk with a mobile phone in the end of the twenty century in their pocket..but those phones had levels of radiation above 4 or 5. These people suffer now from illness like cancer, but they can't get into a perfect conclusion.

One thing we can recommend you is to use bluetooth or headphones but....the level of Motorola Droid 2 is 1.58, so this test is not that quite accurate.

We all remember when three years ago Sony Ericsson launched the Idou with a 12 megapixel camera, then renamed it to Satio. Today it's an Exmor R on the Xperia Arc that upgrades that camera legacy, but is it worth it?

It's important to remember that more pixels that a camera sensor has doesn't necessarily make it a better camera. If you grab your Satio in the middle of night and capture the night sky, and then check the image at 100% size, you will notice that it has nosie, or multi-coloured pixels that shouldn't be there. The lack of knowledge about this is what often misleads customers in thinking that more is better.

In fact, there are many variables in camera technology, sensor size being one, but another is the lens. When it comes to mobile phone lens, it's usually prime - no optical zoom - and plastic, which means less image quality. Good glass, such as Carl Zeiss or Exmor R on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, allow for higher apertures (small f number) and that brings more light into the sensor, and thus faster image capture or better night-time capture. Now that you know, what will you choose?

EA Mobile has released Medal of Honour 2011 for the Satio and the game is now available for download at the PlayNow store. The game promises to live up to its reputation. I will be posting a full review of the gameplay very soon along with any download links I come across.

In an earlier post submitted by Paul Watson, you were given recommendations to help last your Satio battery longest. In another post at megamobilecontent.com i came across tips on how to take care of your battery so that you can increase its lifetime.

Here is what they suggested:

"The lifetime of the lithium ion batteries can be found in mobile phones, PDAs, UMPCs and notebook computers isn't endless. However, you can make it longer.

The ugly truth
Batteries are chemical labs and even if you use them in perfect condititons and the highest care possible, they will get worn sooner or later. They just loosing the ability to keep their power.
The more times the battery has fully recharged the more the battery get worn. Or you can say the the more time you use your device on battery the earlier the devices battery get worn.

First charge
The first charge is important for the battery and your device too. The battery has to be charged long time, 12-16 hours first time to use all the chemicals it has. Some says that the polymer batteries don't need the first big charge but specialist says it's good prctice to do it with the LiPoly batteries too. Note, that you have to wait until the battery reaches it's critical level (around 5%) before start the first big charge. The first charge also calibrates your devices power meter.

Hot and Cold
Both high and cold temperature shorten the lifetime of the battery. In real life the latter happens more often. When you are accessing broadband internet or doing something else that heats up your device, you have to keep in mind that overheated device can overheat the battery too which is very bad.

Switch Off
This applies to mobile devices. Recharging battery while the device is switched off makes recharge time shorter.

Don't Stop!
If you started to charge a battery try to don't abort the charging process. It can cause inaccurate power level indication and can decrease some batteries lifetime too.

When Neccesary
It's a good practice to keep your device on charger when you are actually using it, but not the best practice to keep it on charger when you are not. Better detach or swith off charger when you are not using your device, but only after it is fully charged."

I came across this website a few days ago while searching for games for my Sony Ericsson Satio. Its called Herocraft.com

Herocraft is an innovative leading mobile game developer and publisher company dedicated to produce games for mobile devices. Just logon to the website and select your phone from the drop down list on the right corner.

The site has a good collection of games for the Satio too. I will be posting reviews of these games soon.

Many of you must have never bothered to check for a firmware update for your Satio. If you were worried that it is a very complicated procedure and did not want to go through all of it, you were wrong. Updating Symbian firmware is very simple. Also it is very much recommended that you update your software from time to time and take advantage of the latest firmware.

Steps:

1. Dial *#0000# from your phone.

2. Wait for the Device Updates page to pop up, and click Options, Check for Updates.

3. If there’s one, install it. It’s usually a 3-7Mb file and it will install by itself, while preserving your data. If there isn’t one, make a mental note to check it every couple of weeks.

19062010409 by Ray Garcia G. - The subtle lighting, the isolation of the greenery in the background, and the purity of nature itself are elements that turn this image into one of the winners.

20100214 - Valentine Sunset by kaizhan11 - This is classic image, but it still deserves to be considered one of the best nature Satio-captured exposures. The reflection and dispersion of the setting sun turns everything into orange, and the bridge in the middle adds to the composition. It's a well-captured moment.

Best Abstract picture

Abstract by rmcfreerider - There few submissions for this category, abstract photography sometimes doesn't get much attention as its meaning is confusing. Regardless, the photographer managed to capture...something that might or might not have meaning to him or anyone else for that matter. I see an interesting pattern of gold lines, but that's what makes the image interesting: the questions it raises.

Best Misc picture

20082010032 by monetical -The abstract and misc categories can sometimes overlap, such as this case. The drops of water falling from the golden shower head really don't have much meaning, but the fact that the flash fired and froze the drops in time gives the picture a special look.

Best Architecture picture

07042010128 by seshadrisks -The photographer here captured a simple scenario, but of a complex door letting the sun in in a special way. The pattern of the door is seen on the floor, and the room itself does not fill up with light, and that observation makes this a winner picture.

Best picture overall

Unfortunately, not every winner above can take home the Satio tripod, that is why we decided to offer it to a photographer which produced a striking result, even though the picture involved the basic elements of nature. As promised in our Facebook fan page, today we will start a new photo competition, limited to Sony Ericsson Satio owners only - the winner takes home a mobile phone tripod, which will help you improve your photography.

The main objective of this contest is to award the best picture captured with the Satio. You can only use the Satio to take the picture, no other camera, although you may make use of additional accessories such as telescopes or tripods. Instead of the default camera app, feel free to use any other software, and you may apply minor alterations with PhotoShop or other graphic-editing software.

If you just upload every single one of your pictures, you can get disqualified. We want QUALITY pictures only

All images must be uploaded STRICTLY to Flickr. If you don't have an account, create one. This is to ensure that your images can be viewed at high resolution - if you've reduced their resolution already, don't worry.
